The victim’s father alleges she was raped and murdered
Police has recovered the dead body of young woman from a truck in Rangpur.
The victim Mahmuda Akhter Mousumi, used to work in a garment factory in Dhaka. She hailed from Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat. Her father claims that she was raped and murdered.
Officer-in-charge of Tajhat police station Rokon Uddin said, "We recovered the body from a truck at Tajhat area in the town. We arrested the truck driver Azizul and his helper Ratan."

When questioned, the arrestees said they had picked up the girl from Tongi at around 11:30pm on Thursday on the request of another truck driver Shafiqul Islam. They claimed the girl was alive at this point.
Halfway through the journey, Azizul's nephew Bodi Miah boarded the truck at Abdullahpur. When they crossed Chandura area of Gazipur, Bodi informed the duo that the woman had died.
Then the driver parked the truck in front of Rangpur Cadet College in Tajhat area at 7am on Friday. "They did not inform the matter to the police and instead called Mousumi's father," the policeman added.
Rokon Uddin said they would be able to determine what really happened to the woman after the autopsy.
