Ctg gas cylinder blast: Death toll rises to 5 as another succumbs to injuries

Another victim has died, who was injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a warehouse in Chattogram's Chandanaish upazila on 17 September, while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) in Dhaka, bringing the death toll to five.
The deceased Md Hares Prakash Harun, 30, from Hashimpur Union, passed away around 10am today (23 September), former upazila vice chairman and head of the Gausia committee's Chandanaish Humanitarian Team, Maulana Md Solaiman Faruki, told the media.
On 22 September, warehouse owner Mahbubur Rahman, 45, and worker Abu Saleh, 33, died from their injuries at the same facility. A day earlier, two other individuals, Md Idris, 26, and Md Yusuf Ali, 32, had also lost their lives there.
The incident occurred in the early hours of 17 September when a warehouse worker reportedly lit a cigarette while handling a cylinder, igniting leaked gas and causing an explosion.
Ten people, including workers and the warehouse owner, were burned and initially admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. Four were later transferred to Dhaka's burn and plastic surgery department.
