Woman's body found in sack under Ctg flyover: 'Married boyfriend' arrested for murder
According to PBI officials, the woman was killed due to a conflict over marriage

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested a man in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found in a sack under the flyover near Lalkhan Bazar area in Chattogram on 22 March.
The accused, Nayan Barua, 29, a resident of West Gohira in Rauzan municipality, works as a supervisor at KDS Garments and has a wife and two children.
The PBI revealed the motive behind the previously "clueless" murder case at a press conference today (24 March). According to PBI officials, the victim, Jyotsna Begum, was killed due to a conflict over marriage.
According to the case filed by the victim's elder sister Taiyaba Begum, Jyotsna was a garment worker employed at KDS Garments in the Kaptai Rastar Matha area of Chattogram, where she met Nayan.
Their work relationship gradually turned romantic, and in February, they began living together as a married couple in a rented room in Kamal Mansion, located in the EPZ area's Bondartila, reads the case statement.
PBI Inspector Mostafizur Rahman, the investigating officer, stated that tensions began when Jyotsna urged Nayan to convert to Islam and marry her legally.
"Nayan refused, leading to frequent arguments. On the morning of 22 March, during one such heated dispute, Nayan strangled Jyotsna in a fit of rage, killing her," he added.
"To cover up the crime, Nayan wrapped her body in a blanket, tied with ropes and scarves, and placed it inside a plastic sack. He then transported the sack to Lal Khan Bazar using a rickshaw and an auto-rickshaw before abandoning it beneath the expressway," the inspector said.
Law enforcement authorities tracked Nayan based on security camera footage and witness statements, leading to his arrest. PBI officials have stated that further investigations are underway, and legal proceedings will follow.
