Two individuals were killed in unrelated incidents in the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka yesterday (16 July) evening, according to local authorities.

The first incident took place around 7pm in Chand Uddan. Al Amin, also known as "Pharma Leaf Al Amin", 26, was attacked with sharp weapons on Road No. 6. He was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead. The motive for the attack is currently under investigation, and no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.

Approximately one hour later, around 8pm, another incident occurred in the Nabodoy Housing area under Adabor Police Station. Md. Ibrahim Shikder, a driver by profession, was shot during a dispute at a local internet café. According to local sources, the dispute was related to a prior theft incident involving Ibrahim's nephew and an egg warehouse. During the altercation, one of the individuals present fired multiple shots, one of which struck Ibrahim in the chest. He died at the scene.

Two individuals suspected to be involved in the shooting were detained by local residents and later taken into custody by personnel from the Bangladesh Army's 46 Independent Brigade. The firearm used in the incident, along with a loaded magazine, was recovered. The detained individuals were reported to be brothers and engaged in the egg trade. Both were injured during their capture and sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
