Rajshahi man arrested for allegedly raping woman multiple times on promise of marriage
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a man from Rajshahi's Boalia in a case filed over raping a young woman multiple times by luring her with promise of marriage.
The accused Md Habibul Hasan Hasib, 25, was arrested during a raid in Sultanabad Beldarpara area of Boalia around 2:30am today (12 March), the RAB said in a press release.
He has been handed over to Boalia Police Station for further legal action.

According to RAB, Hasib developed a relationship with the woman through conversations on mobile. On 10 March 2022, he took her to a house in Kazuri area of Boalia with the help of two others and raped her multiple times with the promise of marriage.
On 11 July 2022, he raped her again at the same place multiple times with the promise of marriage, RAB said in the press release.
Later, when the woman asked the accused about marriage, he ran away from home and turned off his mobile phone and stopped communication. Then, the woman herself filed a rape case with Boalia Police Station against Hasib and two other people who assisted in the rape, RAB added.
