Police have arrested a man on Tuesday evening with charges of raping four children in Bogura.

The accused was identified as Joynal Abedin, 53, hailing from Khaduli village under Gopalpur upazila of the district.

The victims are two first-grade and two third-grade students, who were sexually abused by the accused on September 6 and 8, respectively.

"The children were lured into the house by Joynal and he raped them with the threat of murder," said Md Gaziur Rahman, additional superintendent of Bogura (B Circle) police.

Dhunat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain said that Joynal took advantage of his family's absence from the house and committed the crimes.

Two cases have been filed against Joynal under Women and Child Repression Prevention Act in this connection.
