Daughter of July uprising martyr allegedly gang-raped on her way back from visit to father's grave; 1 arrested
The accused filmed the rape and took pictures on their mobile phones, and threatened to make those 'go viral' on social media if she takes legal action. The victim’s family filed a complaint that night.

Patuakhali police on Tuesday (18 March) arrested a man on charges of raping the college-going daughter of a July uprising martyr while she was on her way back from visiting her father's grave.
The arrestee has been identified as Sakib Munshi, a resident of Pangasia union of Dumki upazila, Dumki Police Station Officer-in-Charge Zakir Hossain told The Business Standard yesterday (19 March).
A case has been filed with the police station over the reported incident.
According to police and family members of the victim, a college-going girl was gang-raped on her way back after visiting the grave of her father, who was martyred in police firing during the July uprising.
"When she reached the Naldoani area, two local residents - Shakib Munshi and Sifat Munshi - grabbed her by the face and forcibly took her to a nearby abandoned garden owned by another local named Jalil Munshi. There they raped her," said OC Zakir.
The accused filmed the rape and took pictures on their mobile phones. "They threatened that if she tells anyone about the incident or takes legal action, they would make the pictures and videos of the rape go viral."
The victim's family filed a complaint that night.
"Immediately after receiving the complaint, police arrested Sakib Munshi, one of the accused. Operation is underway to arrest the other one."
