Businessman beaten over alleged sexual assault of 2 children in Faridpur, rescued by joint force

A businessman in Faridpur was subjected to a mob beating after allegedly attempting to sexually assault two children by showing them pornographic videos on a mobile phone last night (16 March).
Hundreds of people surrounded Rezaul Karim Munshi, the owner of a dock at Faridpur river port, and later attacked him.
Police and army personnel intervened after about an hour and a half, rescuing the businessman and taking him to the police station.
Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Asaduzzaman said, "Upon receiving the news, multiple police teams rushed to the scene. However, due to the large crowd, we sought assistance from the army."
"Army personnel joined the police in managing the situation and eventually rescued the businessman from Hazrat Jamaddar's oil shop, where he had been confined by the mob," he added.
"Before security forces arrived, the enraged crowd had already assaulted him, leaving him with minor injuries," the OC said.
He further mentioned that legal action would be taken in accordance with the law after contacting the victims' families.
