A Dhaka court today (22 January) set 21 April for submitting probe reports in two separate graft cases filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against former state ministers - Meher Afroz Chumki and Zakir Hossain.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the orders, accepting first information reports (FIRs) of the two cases.

The ACC filed the cases on 21 January.

Of the two, former state minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain is accused of amassing illegal wealth of Tk12.81 crore and making suspicious transactions of Tk30 crore through his nine bank accounts.

Former state minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki on the other hand, is accused of amassing illegal wealth of Tk5.27 crore and making suspicious transactions of Tk 22 crore through her nine bank accounts.
