The prosecution has informed the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) that they have found video footage of the killings in the final stages of investigating the case of six burned bodies in Ashulia.

"The investigation agency has obtained video footage of the killings in the final stages of investigating the case of six burned bodies in Ashulia. Two individuals involved have been identified, and procedure is underway to identify the others," prosecutor Mizanul Islam said in the petition filed seeking extension of time for submitting the probe report in the case.

He informed the tribunal that additional significant evidence had been found in these cases and more time was needed to examine this evidence and prepare the investigation reports.

Today (28 April) was initially scheduled for submission of the investigation reports in these cases.

After hearing the petition, the tribunal ordered that the investigation report on the Ashulia killing case be submitted by 25 May.

Additionally, investigation reports on the mass killings in Jatrabari, Rampura, and Mirpur must be submitted by 20 July.

The three-member ICT bench, led by its Chairman Justice Golam Mortuja Majumdar, issued these orders on Monday (23 April).

Earlier in the morning, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former DG of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) retired Major General Ziaul Ahsan, 12 police members, and a Jubo League leader named Rabiul were presented before the ICT in connection with four crimes against humanity cases related to mass killings in July-August.

Others presented before the tribunal included former deputy commissioner of DMP's Mirpur Division Jasim Uddin Molla, dismissed additional superintendent of police of Dhaka District Abdullah Al Kafi, former additional superintendent of Dhaka District Police's Savar Circle Md Shahidul Islam, former OC of Jatrabari Police Station Abul Hasan, former OC of Gulshan Police Station Md Majharul Haque, and former inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Arafat Hossain.

Additionally, former AC Rajen Chandra Saha, SI Malek, ASI Chanchal Chandra Saha, and constable Mukul were also presented before the tribunal.

Narsingdi Jubo League leader Rabiul Islam was also brought before the tribunal.
