ICT sets 14 Oct for indictment hearing in July Uprising case against ex-minister Inu
Police arrested Inu on 26 August last year in Dhaka's Uttara area.

The International Crimes Tribunal has fixed 14 October for hearing the formal charge framing against Hasanul Haq Inu, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president and former information minister, in a case over crimes against humanity in Kushtia during the July Uprising last year.
Today (29 September), International Crimes Tribunal-2, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, issued the order after hearing both prosecution and defence applications on the matter.
The day had earlier been scheduled for the hearing on the formal charges.
During the session, the prosecution sought a week's time, while defence counsel Naznin Nahar requested an extension of two more days. Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim argued on behalf of the prosecution.
After considering both sides, the tribunal set 14 October as the date for the hearing.
ICT-2 had previously directed that Inu be brought to court on Thursday (25 September).
On that same day, the prosecution submitted formal charges, presenting eight specific allegations against Inu, including claims of aiding in the killing of seven people in July and August.
The charges were taken into cognisance by the court, which then issued a production warrant. The court also directed that Inu be present for the charge-framing hearing today.
Notably, police arrested Inu on 26 August last year in Dhaka's Uttara area. He was interrogated in custody in connection with several cases and remains in jail.
