Haji Salim, son Solaiman placed on 4-day remand over trader murder during July Uprising
Haji Salim was arrested on 2 September last year and Solaiman Selim on 14 November, after the July Uprising.

A Dhaka court has placed ex-MP Haji Salim and his son Solaiman Salim on four days' remand in a case filed over the killing of jhut (fabric waste) trader Monir in Chankharpul area during July Uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order this morning (20 October).
Earlier, the police produced them in court.
The investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shahbagh Police Station Mainul Islam Khan Pulak, asked for a 10-day remand.
Public Prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruki represented the state during the hearing, while the accused's lawyer, Pran Nath, sought bail by opposing the remand.
After hearing both sides, the court approved a four-day remand for each.
According to the case statement, on 5 August last year, trader Monir joined the protests in Chankharpul area. He was shot dead there by those accused in the case.
Monir's wife filed a murder case at Shahbagh Police Station on 14 March this year. In the case, Haji Salim is accused No 8 and Solaiman Salim No 11.
