A Narayanganj court today (29 May) ordered to send former mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Dr Selina Hayat Ivy to jail after ending her two days on police remand in a murder case.

Narayanganj police produced Ivy before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Shahidul Islam Chowdhury after ending her two-day remand regarding the killing of garment worker Minarul Islam. The court after hearing both sides, ordered to send her to Kashimpur High Security Jail, rejecting her bail prayer.

Inspector Kaiyun Khan of Narayanganj court told the journalists, the prosecution on last Sunday prayed to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Nur Mohsin for granting her a seven-day remand to interrogate. Ivy was virtually connected with the court during the remand hearing.
