Singer Noble sent to jail as bail cancelled in Tk13 lakh fraud case
The court had granted Noble bail until today on the condition of a settlement with the plaintiff.
A Dhaka court has cancelled the bail of controversial singer Mainul Ahsan Noble and ordered him to be sent to jail in a case filed over the embezzlement of Tk13 lakh under the pretext of marriage.
The order was issued today (2 April) by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed following a hearing.
Confirming the development, the plaintiff's lawyer Nasidus Zaman Nishan (Prince) said the accused violated the conditions of a settlement that formed the basis of his bail.
"Although he had agreed to marry the plaintiff, he failed to do so after being released on bail and also did not return the money. We therefore sought cancellation of his bail, which the court granted," he said.
Earlier, on 24 February, the same court had granted Noble bail until today on the condition of a settlement with the plaintiff.
The legal proceedings began after the court took cognisance of a probe report by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI). On 3 February, arrest warrants were issued against Noble, his mother, his wife, and two others in connection with the case.
Demra Police arrested the singer on 23 February from the Bottola area in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj.
According to the case statement, Noble developed a romantic relationship with a woman named Ananniya Shabnam Rose and promised to marry her. Exploiting this relationship, Noble allegedly took a total of Tk13.18 from her at various times between 25 August 2023 and June 2025. He later refused to return the money.
The case was filed on 13 August 2025. After an investigation, PBI Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman submitted a report on 7 January this year, stating that the allegations brought by the plaintiff were found to be true.
Earlier, Noble had also been arrested on 19 May, 2025, in a separate case filed with Demra Police Station on charges of rape and assault. He was later granted bail on 24 June, five days after marrying the complainant in jail.
