Ex-minister Mosharraf, Babul Chakhari remanded in murder attempt case

A Dhaka court today (18 June) placed former housing and public works minister Mosharraf Hossain and Bangladesh People's Party chairman Babul Sardar Chakhari on a three-day remand each in an attempt to murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Mejbah Ur Rahman passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on a 10-day remand each in the case.
According to the case documents, Gono Odhikar Parishad leader Badrul Islam Saimon joined a grand rally declared by BNP and its allies in the capital on 28 October 2023.
The rally came under attack, and Saimon got shot in the incident.
He filed the case on 29 April 2025 with the Paltan Model Police Station against 245, including the ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
