Senior Special Judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Md Zakir Hossain Galib gave the order following a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)

A Dhaka court today (24 May) ordered to freeze 38 bank accounts of former Chief of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan, his wife Tahmida Begun and son Sheikh Labir Hannan.
Senior Special Judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Md Zakir Hossain Galib gave the order following a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC in its petition told the court that there are many allegations of corruption against Sheikh Abdul Hannan for misusing power, damaging state properties, taking bribes and misappropriation of money through recruitment, irregularities and corruption.
He also laundered money abroad and acquired assets and properties beyond his known source of income, the petition added.
ACC Deputy Director (DD) Public Relations Aktarul Islam told journalists that a three-member inquiry committee has been investigating the allegations against former air chief and his family members.
The accused persons have been trying to transfer, hand over and convert their movable and immovable properties to others to avoid investigation, the ACC officials said adding that it would be very difficult to recover those properties if it is not frozen.
