Child killed as bus hits CNG auto rickshaw in Gazipur

A child was killed and two others injured after a minibus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur's Telipara area this evening (14 April).
Following the accident, an enraged crowd set the bus on fire, causing a temporary disruption to traffic on the busy highway.
Md Kaiser Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Basan Police Station, confirmed the incident.
He said the deceased and the injured were passengers of the CNG vehicle.
According to police and local sources, a Champion Paribahan minibus hit the CNG auto-rickshaw from behind, causing it to overturn. The child passenger died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The situation was quickly brought under control and traffic has since resumed, said the OC.
