Bidyanondo Foundation chief resigns

Kishor Kumar Das, founder and chief of voluntary organisation Bidyanondo Foundation, has resigned from his post.

The organisation confirmed the matter on their official Facebook page today.

The organisation said the founder would stay with the organisation even though he submitted his resignation letter.

A member of the organisation Atikiya said, "Kishor Kumar submitted the resignation letter recently. We wanted to declare the matter after the end of coronavirus outbreak. But considering the situation, the matter has been informed through a post on Facebook today."

The Facebook post said, "The name Bidyanondo was given by a Muslim brand expert. He gave the name in line with the slogan "acquiring knowledge through joy". Many people mistakenly think of it as a person's name. That's why we voted for and against the name change two years ago and the volunteers voted against the name change."

The entrepreneur of the Bidyanondo can spend very little time physically, as he lives outside Dhaka.  Around, 90 percent of the Muslim volunteers continue the huge work of the organisation. However, many people spread fake propaganda about the religion of the entrepreneur with false information. As a result, the activities and speed of the donation were damaged, said the post.

Last month, the chief of Bidyanondo informed the volunteers of his resignation. Such a decision was taken not because of the communal propaganda, but in the dream of inspiring volunteers with personal sacrifice and enriching the organisation with new talents, the Facebook post also reads.

Founded in 2013, Bidyanondo Foundation is a non-profit organisation mostly run by humanitarian volunteers, which helps to educate underprivileged children.

However, they also do various social development works. The organisation has been on the side of the people with relief assistance since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.
