IDRA chairman resigns citing personal reasons

The chairman of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), M Aslam Alam, has formally resigned from his post, citing personal reasons.
He had announced his intention to step down at a meeting nearly two weeks ago.
The resignation was made official today (2 February), IDRA spokesperson Saifunnahar Sumi confirmed to The Business Standard (TBS).
Former senior secretary M Aslam Alam was appointed as the 10th chairman of the IDRA on 9 September 2024.
