Bangladesh must ensure justice for 2009 Pilkhana carnage: CA
The interim government announced that 25 February would be observed as Jatiya Shaheed Sena Dibash every year, as per a circular issued by the Cabinet Division on Sunday (23 February).

Bangladesh, as a state, is responsible for ensuring justice for the brutal massacre that took place in Pilkhana in 2009, said Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in a message as part of the first observance of Jatiya Shaheed Sena Dibash today (25 February).
"We remain committed to this cause," added CA.
He further said that even after all these years, the families of the martyrs continue to await justice for the tragic loss of their loved ones.
"I sincerely hope that the country and its people will stand beside the families of the martyrs and all those who have suffered, with empathy and support," he added.
He also said, "In remembrance of all the martyrs who fell victim to the brutal massacre at Pilkhana on this day in 2009, the current interim government has decided to commemorate this day as Jatiya Shaheed Sena Dibash every year from now on."
On 25 and 26 February 2009, a total of 74 people were killed in a mutiny at the Pilkhana headquarters in Dhaka. The then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) Director General, Major General Shakil Ahmed, was among 57 army officers killed.
