Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has congratulated and expressed gratitude to Tarique Rahman, Shafiqur Rahman, and Nahid Islam for their responsible role in ensuring a festive and peaceful election.
He spoke with the leaders of the BNP, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and NCP today (14 February) in separate telephone calls.
During the conversations, the chief adviser said that the restraint, moderation, and responsible conduct of political parties helped maintain a festive and peaceful atmosphere across the country during the elections.
He first spoke with BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, congratulating him on his party's overwhelming victory.
He then thanked Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman and Nahid Islam for their success and for taking a responsible role after the elections.
The chief adviser expressed hope that political parties will continue to play a cooperative and positive role in the future to uphold democratic practices. He also urged all parties to work together to meet the expectations of the nation.
