Advance rail ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr begin

The Bangladesh Railway today (14 March) began advance ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr, with passengers from Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions able to make purchases online from 2pm.
This year, all tickets are being sold exclusively online through the Bangladesh Railway website and mobile app.
According to the railway schedule, advance tickets for intercity trains are being sold on the following dates: tickets for 24 March were available on 14 March, while tickets for 25 March will be sold tomorrow (15 March).
Similarly, tickets for 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 March will be available on 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 March, respectively.
For the return journey after Eid, advance ticket sales will begin on 24 March, with tickets for 3 April available that day.
Tickets for 4 April will be sold on 25 March, while tickets for 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 April will be available on 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 March, respectively.
To accommodate the increased number of travellers, Bangladesh Railway will issue standing tickets for 25% additional passengers, available at the starting station before departure.
Each passenger can purchase a maximum of four tickets for the return journey, and tickets once bought cannot be refunded.
As part of the Eid travel arrangements, the Railway will operate a special service named Chandpur Eid Special 1 and 2 on the Chattogram-Chandpur-Chattogram route.
Additionally, 28 metre-gauge passenger coaches and 14 metre-gauge locomotives will be added to the railway service to manage the Eid rush.
In preparation for the holiday season, the railway authority has suspended weekly holidays for all intercity trains from 27 March until the day before Eid. Regular weekly holidays will resume after the festival. On the day of Eid, no intercity trains will operate.
Passengers can purchase tickets through the Bangladesh Railway website (https://eticket.railway.gov.bd/) or via the mobile app.
