Oil-carrying train derails in Ctg, rail communications not disrupted

An oil-carrying train derailed in Chattogram's Bhatiari today (1 October).
The incident occurred at around 1pm when that train was returning to Chattogram after unloading fuel in Dhaka.
Anisur Rahman, divisional transport officer (Chattogram) of Bangladesh Railway, said the train was returning from Dhaka with 32 wagons when it derailed on the Bhatiari rail track, and train services were not disrupted as a result of the derailment
"Two wagons were partially derailed. Recovery operations are under way, and we expect the wagons to be back on track by around 4:30pm," he told The Business Standard.
"The cause of the derailment would be determined following an investigation," he added.
