Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali today (13 October) said tougher departmental action would be taken against the police personnel who will play a biased role in the upcoming parliamentary election.
"If any policeman is found playing a biased role in the upcoming general election will have to face the music," he said. He was addressing at the DMP's monthly crime review meeting held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium here.
The DMP Commissioner also said that the national elections are near and a suitable environment must be created for a fair and beautiful election.
"It must be ensured that no weakness is revealed in the work of the police in this connection," he said.
The DMP Chief said the instruction has already been given to the concerned officials to make sure none, especially the organization which activities was banned can disrupt the environment.
Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md Sarwar and Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S N Md Nazrul Islam spoke on the occasion. Senior officials of the DMP were present at the meeting.
