10 held over arson incidents in Dhaka

Police have arrested ten people from different spots of the capital on Thursday evening over their suspected involvement in the arson incidents.
Walid Hossain, deputy commissioner to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (media wing), said "Nine of the suspects were arrested from Paltan area while the other one from Vatara area of the capital."
Earlier, some unidentified miscreants set six buses on fire at different spots in the capital on Thursday afternoon amid the by-polls to the Dhaka-18 constituency. However, none was reportedly injured in the arson incidents.
Police suspected that it could be an attempt to foil the by-election.
According to Fire Service, six buses caught fire at Shahbagh, Kataban, Motijheel, secretariat intersection adjacent to the Press Club, in front of the Awami League's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue and Khilgaon. All the incidents took place between 1:30pm to 2:30pm.
