Eight people were killed and more than 20 were injured in today's (1 March) missile strike on the Israeli town of Beit Shemesh, marking Iran's deadliest attack so far in its regional retaliation against an air assault by Israel and the United States.
Medics said the missile hit a public bomb shelter in the town, located just west of Jerusalem, reports Reuters.

The Israeli military said in a statement that search and rescue teams, along with a helicopter to evacuate the injured, are currently operating in Beit Shemesh.
It added that the circumstances surrounding the impact of the Iranian ballistic missile are under review.
