The White House has clarified that the total tariff on Chinese goods entering the US stands at 145%, reports BBC.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump announced an increase in the levy to 125%.
However, the administration later confirmed that this figure did not account for an existing 20% tariff already in place.
When combined, the total tariff now amounts to 145% — higher than previously indicated.
