Why is BJP's West Bengal in turmoil before Qurbani?
After the BJP government came to power in West Bengal, there has been a huge controversy surrounding the bulldozer operation, eviction of hawkers, restrictions on beef sales and the announcement of stopping the allowance of imams and muezzins. The eviction operation and clashes with the police have spread tension in various areas including Kolkata. Anger is also growing over the new animal slaughter policy ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. Overall, political and social unrest has increased across the state.
