Nobel Peace Prize laureate Machado appears in public after 11 months
Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Corina Machado has made her first public appearance in 11 months. Machado has been in hiding and under travel restrictions since the disputed 2024 presidential election. She arrived in Oslo, Norway, on December 10, although her daughter, Ana Corina Sousa, accepted the award. Upon her arrival in Oslo, Machado met with supporters, exchanged greetings and posed for photos.
