Hurricane Lala threatens Hawaii in potential first landfall in 34 years

Hurricane Lala is approaching Hawaii as a Category 1 storm with 75mph winds, threatening a rare direct hit on the Big Island. The National Weather Service has issued a hurricane warning, with officials warning of life-threatening flooding, mudslides, dangerous surf and heavy rainfall. Power outages, flight cancellations and landslides are already affecting the islands as residents prepare for Lala's arrival.
