British MP Tulip Siddiq jailed over Purbachal plot controversy

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and British MP Tulip Siddiq have been sentenced in the Purbachal plot corruption case. Hasina received 5 years, Rehana 7 years, and Tulip 2 years in prison, along with fines. The verdict was announced by Dhaka's 4th Special Judge Court on December 1. Security was heightened around the court during the ruling.
