Trump administration plans $2.8 billion munitions sale to Israel, sources say
Amidst rising tensions in the Middle East, the United States is set to provide Israel with a major arms package worth approximately $2.8 billion. The package includes over 40,000 powerful bombs and penetrator warheads. The Trump administration has moved to supply these weapons to Israel despite facing its own stockpile shortages and the massive costs associated with the war involving Iran. Previously, although the Biden administration had halted a shipment of 2,000-pound bombs due to concerns over civilian casualties in Gaza, the Trump administration subsequently approved the transfer.
