Since its launch in 2011, bKash has evolved from offering basic services like Send Money, Cash In, Cash Out, and Mobile Recharge into a comprehensive financial platform. Users can now pay utility bills, make merchant payments, donate to charities, receive remittances, and access savings and loans—all from a single app.
Democratising Digital Payments: Nearly one million merchants accept QR and NFC payments through bKash, transforming cashless transactions into an everyday practice. From small shops to large brands, its merchant network drives a shift in payment behaviour.
Simplifying Bill Payments: The bKash Pay Bill service eliminates the need for paper bills and queues. Users can pay for electricity, water, gas, internet, TV, and more, reducing late payments and simplifying management for service providers, who save time and costs while boosting revenue.
Seamless Connectivity with Banks: Customers can add money to their bKash account anytime from bank accounts or cards. Fund transfers from selected banks are also supported, providing an interoperable experience that reduces the need for physical branch visits and expands access to formal financial services.
Supporting Businesses: Merchants benefit from digital transactions that simplify payments, bookkeeping, and cash management. They can also transfer funds to linked bank accounts directly from the app, ensuring smooth, cashless operations.

DPS and Savings: Users can open weekly and monthly DPS accounts with four commercial banks and an NBFI directly from the app, for tenures ranging from 6 months to 4 years, with deposits starting at Tk 250. Over 5 million DPS accounts were opened in just four years, reflecting strong preference for hassle-free digital banking.
Collateral-Free Loans: Over 10 million instant digital loans, ranging from Tk 500 to Tk 50,000, have been disbursed via the app. These loans help users cover medical expenses, start businesses, manage emergencies, or invest in new ventures, particularly for those outside traditional banking coverage.
