Last week, Borussia Dortmund announced that Andre Schurrle's contract was terminated through mutual consent. The winger spent the 19-20 season on loan at Spartak Moscow where he appeared 13 times.

Schurrle won the World cup in Brazil six years ago where his cross from the left flank assisted Mario Gotze in extra time.

He said to Der Spiegel,

"The decision matured overtime. The depths became deeper and the highlights less and less."

"You always have to play a certain role in order to survive in the business, otherwise you will lose your job and you won't find a new one."

The German admitted to falling out of love with the beautiful game. He was capped 57 times by Germany and scored 22 goals. He played for clubs like Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
