Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has passed the critical phase following his stenting surgery and is now on the verge of being discharged, officials at KPJ Specialised Hospital in Savar confirmed at a press briefing today.
"Yesterday, we mentioned that Tamim was in a critical condition. By the grace of Allah, he has now overcome that stage," the hospital's media director, Dr Rajib Hasan, stated during the briefing.

"He is doing well—talking, eating, and has spoken with both his family and the doctors. By Allah's mercy and the prayers of everyone, he is with us," Dr Rajib said.
"Inshallah, he will be discharged soon. His family will decide on the timing and process, and we will fully respect and support their decision," he added.
Though Tamim is expected to return home soon, doctors have advised him to allow at least three months for recovery before considering a return to the cricket field.
