Impeccable top order batting from Tamim Iqbal and Mehedi Hasan ensured another easy win for Dhaka Platoon in the Bangabandhu BPL.

They defeated Sylhet Thunder by 8 wickets, with both the batsmen registering half-centuries.

Tamim was not out on 80 while  Mehedi scored 56.

Dhaka Platoon chased down 174/4 set by the Sylhet Thunder, with 9 balls to spare.

Earlier, Sylhet Thunder posted a total of 174/4 against Dhaka Platoon after an initial wobble.

Windies batsman Johnson Charles revived their innings with a rapid half-century.

Sylhet lost Andre Fletcher on the very first ball of the match from Mehedi Hasan.

Then Shahid Afridi picked up Abdul Mazid for 8.

Charles then took control of the match. The Windies batsman smashed 73 of 45 balls. His innings included eight 6s and three 4s.

Mohammad Mithun continued with the momentum down the order and scored 49* off 31.

He was well aided by Sherfane Rutherford. He was also not out on 38 off 28.

Sylhet Thunder opted to bat first against Dhaka Platoon.
