The BPL champions Rajshahi Warriors received a rousing welcome on an open-top bus parade through Rajshahi city today (26 January).
From morning until noon, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, and their teammates toured the city aboard the bus, drawing massive crowds of jubilant cricket fans along the route.
The Warriors arrived in Rajshahi this morning after clinching the BPL title. At around 10:30am, the players landed at Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) Airport, where an open-top bus had been arranged in advance. Carrying the BPL trophy, the players boarded the bus and began their victory procession under police escort. Senior executives of the team's owner, Nabil Group, led the convoy.
Hundreds of supporters followed the bus on motorcycles, waving placards reading "Pride of Victory," "City of Heroes," and "Victory Has Come, the Cup Has Been Lifted." The slogan "The Cup Has Come Home" was emblazoned across the front of the bus.
The parade moved from the airport along the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway, passing Amchattar, Biman Chattar, the RUET Flyover, and Paris Road at Rajshahi University. At the university, students welcomed the champions by showering them with flowers.
In scenes of celebration, many fans removed their shirts, T-shirts, and sweaters and tossed them toward the players, who signed the garments and returned them. At several points, Shanto and Mushfiq lifted the BPL trophy high as fans cheered to the beat of music. The two stars were also seen dancing atop the bus alongside the crowd.
After leaving the university area, the bus passed through Talaimari and Saheb Bazar, stopping briefly in front of Rajshahi Collegiate School and Rajshahi College, where students again gathered to greet the players.
The procession later toured Lakhsmipur, Darikhardbona, Railgate, and Amchattar areas in the city, before concluding at Nabil Industrial Park in Paba.
Throughout the journey, people lined the roads, waving and taking selfies from afar as the city celebrated its champion team.
