Life often takes unexpected turns, leaving one unprepared for what lies ahead.

Such was the case for Chittagong Kings pacer Khaled Ahmed. After celebrating a victory on home soil, the right-arm seamer returned to the team hotel, only to face heartbreaking news: his mother had passed away.

Khaled's mother passed away on Thursday night, a loss confirmed by the Chattogram Kings management. In a Facebook post at 1:37 am, the team expressed their condolences, writing, "Our deepest sympathies to Khaled for the loss of his beloved mother. May Allah grant her the highest place in Jannah."

BPL side Sylhet Strikers also extended their sympathies, posting, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. The Sylhet Strikers family expresses profound sorrow and prays for the forgiveness and peace of the departed soul. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus."

News of Khaled's loss began circulating on social media before being officially confirmed by the Chittagong Kings later that night. As of the latest update, the 32-year-old national team pacer remains with his team in Chattogram.

Before receiving the devastating news, Khaled had enjoyed a strong performance on the field. Contributing to his team's commanding 45-run victory over Khulna Tigers at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, he shone with figures of 2 for 26 from 4 overs. The win marked Chittagong Kings' fourth consecutive triumph in the Bangladesh Premier League.
