Irfan looking to make his chances count
The southpaw played two outstanding innings and has been instrumental to his team's success.

Left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman Irfan Sukkur, who has impressed one and all with his batting in the ongoing BCB President's Cup, has said that he wants to do what's productive for his team and contribute as much as possible.
The 27-year old batsman from Chattogram has been playing for Najmul XI in the BCB President's Cup. The southpaw played two outstanding innings and has been instrumental to his team's success. Despite being a top-order batsman, Sukkur has been given the role to finish the innings in the tournament. He has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and wants to play his part.
"I usually bat at the top. Here I am batting in at seven. So what I look to do is to stay unbeaten and do what's productive for the team. This tournament is extremely important for me. I was out of track for two years. Before that, I was in the High-Performance camp for three years. So I want to do what my team wants from me here," said Sukkur, ahead of Najmul XI's next match against Tamim XI.
Sukkur credits Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim for encouraging him. "Tamim Bhai (Tamim Iqbal), Shourob Bhai (Mominul Haque) have always told us to work hard and stay positive. They have told us to put emphasis on fitness. I think that's a reason why they are doing well," he said.
"It's really great sharing the dressing room with great players. Mushfiq Bhai (Mushfiqur Rahim) tells me to express the character. He doesn't speak much but he inspires me with the very little he speaks. He tells me to keep my approach similar when I am on the field and off it," the left-hander added.
