Diabate's brilliance leads Mohammedan to victory over Kings; Abahani triumphs in second-half surge
Abahani’s 4-1 win keeps them in second place with 26 points. Mohammedan, on the other hand, have 30 points from 11 matches, maintaining their position at the top of the league.

Mohammedan Sporting Club secured an impressive 2-1 victory over Bashundhara Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), with a brilliant brace from Sulaimane Diabaté.
The win strengthens their hopes of ending a long drought since the league's renaming in 2007, while also positioning them firmly at the top of the table.
The match began in a tense atmosphere with both teams' fans showing solidarity for Palestine. Bashundhara Kings initially struggled and found themselves trailing after Diabaté capitalised on a mistake by Kings' goalkeeper, Mehdi Hasan Shravan, in the 25th minute. Kings quickly equalised, with Rakib scoring after a deflection off a defender. Despite opportunities on both sides, the score remained 1-1 at halftime.
The match took a dramatic turn early in the second half when Kings' Rimon Hossain was sent off for a foul on Sanouda, leaving them with 10 men. Mohammedan capitalised on this numerical advantage, and in the 85th minute, Diabaté sealed the win with a clinical second goal, securing three valuable points for his team.
Meanwhile, in a dominant second-half display, Abahani Limited dispatched Dhaka Wanderers 4-1. After a goalless first half, Rafael Augusto opened the scoring in the 48th minute, followed by a quick-fire double from Suman Reza. Wanderers responded with a penalty from Sakib, but Abahani quickly regained control with a goal from Mohammad Hridoy and another from Rafael to complete the victory.
Abahani's 4-1 win keeps them in second place with 26 points, while Wanderers are left struggling in 9th with just 4 points. Mohammedan, on the other hand, have 30 points from 11 matches, maintaining their position at the top of the league.
