Valeriu Tita files FIFA complaint against Bashundhara Kings over unpaid dues
The Romanian coach was dismissed earlier this year despite leading the club to victories in both the Bangladesh Challenge Cup and the Federation Cup last season.

Former Bashundhara Kings head coach Valeriu Tita has lodged a formal complaint with FIFA against the club, claiming unpaid salaries, bonuses, and flight expenses.
The Romanian coach was dismissed earlier this year despite leading the club to victories in both the Bangladesh Challenge Cup and the Federation Cup last season. Tita took over from long-time Spanish manager Oscar Bruzon in July of last year. However, his stint saw the five-time Bangladesh Premier League champions finish third in the league, following the departure of several key foreign players amid financial difficulties triggered by the country's political transition in August 2025.
The Kings also endured a dismal AFC Challenge League campaign, finishing bottom of their group without securing a single point.
Now in charge of Omani side Al-Seeb, Tita confirmed this week that he had taken his former club to FIFA.
"I'm claiming three months of unpaid salary, bonuses, and the cost of flight tickets that I had to pay from my own pocket," said the 59-year-old. He also noted that Khalil Charkoun, his former assistant at Bashundhara, has submitted a similar complaint.
Tita voiced his frustration over the club's apparent shift in fortunes. "When we arrived, the conditions were nothing like what had been promised—no players, no money, no bonuses. Still, we managed to win two trophies. Now, suddenly, they're signing new players and appointing a new coach. It doesn't make sense," he said.
Bashundhara Kings are currently preparing for their AFC Challenge League playoff match against Syrian club Al-Karamah SC, set to be held in Doha on 12 August.
