According to reports, Manchester City's veteran midfielder David Silva is set to join David Beckham's MLS team Inter Miami once his contract runs out with the English club.

The Spanish midfielder had announced before the start of the season that he will not be renewing his contract with his current employers and also stated that he will not join any other English club.

This will be the first major signing for Beckham's team, as the four players they have signed till date are defender Christian Makoun, midfielders Matias Pellegrini and David Norman Jr. as well as forward Julian Carranza.

Inter Miami was also linked with Barcelona stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez and also PSG star Edinson Cavani.

David Silva is one of the most decorated midfielders of the sports as he has won a World Cup and two European Championships with Spain, along with four Premier League titles and two FA Cups with Manchester City.

The Spanish midfielder started his career at Valencia before moving to Manchester in 2010. Since then, he has appeared in 403 matches for the Citizens, scoring 72 goals and assisting another 134.

He was pivotal in Manchester City's back-to-back league wins and their domestic treble in the season 2018-19.
