Bangladesh women’s football team take on UAE tomorrow

The Bangladesh women's national football team will face hosts United Arab Emirates in the first of two FIFA international friendly matches on 28 february at the UAE Football Association complex (Pitch 1).

Kick-off is scheduled for 9:30 pm Bangladesh Standard Time (BST).

The team, led by defender Afeida Khandakar, arrived safely in the UAE on 27 february to participate in the friendlies. After lunch, the players were visited by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) vice president Fahad Karim, who offered words of encouragement ahead of the opening fixture, according to a statement from the BFF.

Fahad expressed his optimism following his interaction with the squad. "I had a friendly discussion with the girls, and they seemed highly motivated. I hope they will play a good brand of football against the UAE," he said.

The team held their first training session at Pitch 2 of the UAE Football Association complex to complete their preparations.

Bangladesh will play their second and final friendly against the UAE on 2 march.
