Bangladesh smashed 14 sixes against West Indies in the series-deciding third ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today, equalling their record for the most sixes in an ODI match.
The team had previously hit 14 sixes against Zimbabwe in 2020 at Sylhet, a match in which Liton Das and Tamim Iqbal shared a 292-run opening partnership.
This is also the highest number of sixes Bangladesh have hit against West Indies, surpassing their previous best of 12 sixes in 2024.
The openers, Saif Hassan (6) and Soumya Sarkar (4), combined for 10 sixes during a 176-run opening stand, Bangladesh's second-best opening partnership after Tamim and Liton's 292.
Soumya Sarkar struck 91 off 86 balls. Saif Hassan contributed 80 off 72 balls.
In support, Najmul Hossain Shanto hit three sixes in his 44-run innings, while Nurul Hasan Sohan added one six in his unbeaten 16, completing Bangladesh's tally of 14 sixes.
