Bangladesh suffer defeat in first T20I against West Indies
Chasing 166, Bangladesh were bowled out for 149 with two balls remaining, losing by 16 runs.
At one stage, Bangladesh seemed destined for a heavy defeat after the specialist batters failed to deliver. But thanks to the resilience of the lower-order batters, they managed to narrow the margin significantly. Even so, West Indies comfortably took the lead in the series with an easy win.

The margin could have been even smaller. Taskin Ahmed sent a Romario Shepherd delivery soaring into the stands, but standing deep inside the crease, his foot accidentally hit the stumps. He was out hit wicket—and naturally, that six didn't count.
Taskin scored 10 off 8 balls, while Mustafizur Rahman remained unbeaten on 11 from as many deliveries.
Taskin became only the second Bangladeshi batter to be out hit wicket in T20 internationals, and the sixth across all formats.
