‎3 new records in cycling‎ in Bangladesh Games

‎Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games saw two new records being set in men's cycling on April 03.

In the men's 1000m time trial, Biswas Faisal Hossain of the Bangladesh Army won the gold medal by beaking the national record.

In the women's 500m time trial, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)'s Nishi Khatun and Bangladesh Army's Sampoorna Biswas set a new record.‎

‎Faisal took 1 minute 20.40 seconds in the 1000m time trial at the Army Stadium. The previous record was set by Eqamul Islam of the same group in 2017 in 1 minute 26.10 seconds.‎

Sabur Khan of BGB won the silver medal in 1 minute 22.35 seconds and Ansar's Hadi Alam won the bronze medal in 1 minute 25.11 seconds.‎

Nishi Khatun won the gold medal in the women's 500m time trial with a new record of 45.47 seconds.

The silver medallist Army's Samapti Bishwas set a new record in 45.51 seconds.

The previous record was of 48.65 seconds. As a result, both gold and silver medals have seen new records being broken.

Army's Sumitra Gain won the bronze medal in 48.95 seconds in the event.‎

‎In the men's elimination race, Bangladesh Army's Muktadur Al Hasan won gold. Alamgir Hossain won silver and Tarikul Islam of Ansar won bronze medals.

In the women's elimination race, the Bangladesh Army's Shilpa Khatun won gold, Ansar's Chingbai Marma bagged silver and Kavita Roy won bronze medals.

There is no timing count in the elimination race.‎
