Ed Sheeran drops Persian-inspired single

Ed Sheeran has unveiled 'Azizam', a soulful Persian-influenced track, marking the first single from his upcoming eighth studio album, 'Play'.
Produced by Ilyah Salmanzadeh—renowned for his work with Ariana Grande and Charli XCX—the track blends Sheeran's signature pop sound with Middle Eastern flair. Sheeran shared on Instagram that the song was born from Salmanzadeh's suggestion to tap into his Persian heritage. The title, 'Azizam', translates to "my dear" in Persian.
Alongside the release, Sheeran dropped a "Pink Heart" visual, featuring clips from recent US promo events, while teasing an official music video to come. During a March appearance on 'The Tonight Show', Sheeran revealed 'Play' is part of a 10-album concept inspired by Quentin Tarantino's filmography.
Though 'Play' has no release date yet, Sheeran continues his 'Mathematics' Tour, set to conclude in Germany this September. Fans can also catch him at Coachella on 19 April for a rare one-day Mojave Tent set.
