Coke Studio Bangla season four launches tonight with Turkish-inspired Nazrul track
Coca-Cola Bangladesh will be officially launching the fourth season of its musical platform, Coke Studio Bangla, timing the release with the birth anniversary of Bangladesh's national poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The season opens with 'Room Jhoom', a celebrated Nazrul Sangeet monsoon poem. The track is rooted in Üsküdar'a Gider İken, an Ottoman-Turkish folk melody that Nazrul adapted into Bangla. This rendition brings the musical connection full circle, featuring a cross-cultural collaboration between Bangladeshi artists Mahtim Shakib and Nusrat Jahan, alongside Turkish musicians Elif Hande Cevgel and Mustafa Ipek. The song marks Shakib's debut on the platform and introduces Jahan as a fresh voice in the industry. Shuvendu Das produced the track, which will premiere on the platform's official YouTube channel tonight at 7:30pm.
The upcoming season is scheduled to feature eight songs, each structured around distinct emotional and musical themes designed to explore the links between Bangla music and global traditions.
Since its inception in 2022, Coke Studio Bangla has accumulated over 4 million subscribers and more than 926 million views globally. The platform forms part of Coca-Cola's broader presence in Bangladesh, where the company has operated for over sixty years, directly employing 800 people and supporting community initiatives in water stewardship, waste management, and women's entrepreneurship.
