Coke Studio Bangla’s latest fuses Bangali melody with Latin jazz
Coke Studio Bangla released its seventh track of Season 3, titled 'Café', a cross-cultural collaboration that fuses Bangla lyrics with Latin jazz influences, on 24 October.
Produced by Shuvendu Das Shuvo, the song features Tanzir Chowdhury Tuhin of Avash (formerly of Shironamhin), Brazilian artiste Lívia Mattos and percussionist Gaurab Chatterjee, stage name Gaboo. Together, they blend a soundscape that bridges Afro-Cuban jazz, Latin salsa and Bangla melody, creating a rich musical dialogue between traditions.
The track draws inspiration from both global and local influences — echoing the soulful roots of Eddie Palmieri's Latin jazz and the nostalgic strains of Mohiner Ghoraguli.
With Tuhin's expressive vocals, Shuvendu's emotive arrangement, and Lívia's distinctive accordion playing, Café offers a contemplative listening experience reminiscent of intimate conversations and quiet moments.
Café marks Coke Studio Bangla's continued exploration of diverse genres and global collaborations in its third season, celebrating the evolving language of contemporary Bangladeshi music.
