Southeast University Welcomes New Students of Fall 2024

Southeast University (SEU) welcomed its newly admitted students for the Fall Semester 2024 with a vibrant Freshers' Reception and Orientation Programme on November 13th and 14th at its Multipurpose Hall.

The programme comprised four sessions for different departments.

The inaugural session was held on 13 November at 11:00 a.m. for the newly admitted students of the CSE department. Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, former professor of CSE at BUET, graced the session as the Chief Guest. Later that day, the second session, held at 3:00 p.m., welcomed students from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Architecture, and Textile departments. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Rasheda Sarker Fancy, Vice President (Production), Anlima Textile Limited, graced this session. The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr M Mofazzal Hossain, presided over the first day's sessions.

14 November commenced with the third session at 11:00 a.m., which welcomed students from the Bangla, English, and Economics departments. Mohammad Belal Hossain Chowdhury, Member (VAT-Policy) National Board of Revenue (NBR), graced the session as the Chief Guest. At the same time, Brigadier General Kazi Shameem Farhad, NDCC, psc, Principal, Dhaka Residential Model College, was present in the program as a Special Guest. Following this, the fourth session on the same day at 3:00 p.m. welcomed students from Southeast Business School. Dr Mahmudul Hasan Khusru, FCA, past President of ICAB and the Director and CEO of Expo Group, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Throughout the last day's sessions, Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of SEU, presided over the proceedings, while Professor Dr M. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor, Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed (Retd), Registrar of SEU, Air Vice Marshal M. Abul Bashar (Retd), SEU, Additional Registrar, Deans, and Chairs of SEU extended a heartfelt welcome to the newly enrolled students. The esteemed guests imparted valuable advice, encouraging students to prioritise punctuality and maintain focus. They emphasised the importance of self-development and readiness to tackle future challenges while pursuing their studies at the beautiful permanent campus of the university at Tejgaon.
